In the long term, its hard to imagine how it will work for ethically and theologically correct to ordain a Canadian woman, but not an Ameican one born a few miles away. But I do totally agree that the issue should not be forced on congregations that would be offended by the concept. Thanks for the article link!

Jen in SeattleAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20381399.post-58152208410168956082007-06-04T17:38:00.000-05:002007-06-04T17:38:00.000-05:00Jen--It is inconsistent, as you say, but it is a c...Jen--

It is inconsistent, as you say, but it is a choice to focus on the essentials that unite us rather than the non-essential that divides. Here is an excellent response to your question.

We are traditionalists on this question--because of our commitment to the undivided church and that which has been believed "everywhere, by all, at all times."At A Hen's Pacehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02244490539003130874noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20381399.post-40256659385496722072007-06-04T17:25:00.000-05:002007-06-04T17:25:00.000-05:00What a wonderful community to move forward from! Praying for you all.

Regarding AMIA, I have read some things about how they are ordaining women in Canada now (and in Rwanda, as I think they always have). Have you or your hubby heard any rumblings if AMIA in the US will catch up anytime soon? I know women can be ordained as deacons, but it seems theologically inconsistent to ordain women of one nationality as priests, but not women of another nationality. Just curious if you've heard anything.

Jen in SeattleAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20381399.post-91140363375939160652007-06-04T14:31:00.000-05:002007-06-04T14:31:00.000-05:00All God's richest blessings as you depart and do H...All God's richest blessings as you depart and do His work in a new place!
