Give Me Jesus

Well, since I've been back, it's been a whirlwind of catching up--especially the kids' schoolwork--and preparing for tonight's auditions!! (Our next musical is--Seussical, the Musical!)

It's been a rough re-entry, in all honesty. One of the things I enjoyed most about being gone away with Papa Roooster was that I never had to talk unless I had something nice to say. I come home and...well, I haven't enjoyed putting the drill sergeant uniform back on. There was a lot that needed whipping back into shape upon my return!

It's my prayer every Lent to become more of a loving leader in my home and less of a drill sergeant. I use more sophisticated words than that, generally, but that's what it boils down to. But I can't seem to change very much very fast, and I grieve for the suffering my harsh words inflict on us all.

I was grieving some when I sat down to catch up on one or two favorite blogs and watched this video at Ann V's. The words of this song are so simple, but the presentation is filled with layers of theological truth that comforted, convicted, and encouraged me. I thought it would be perfect to post as a Lenten Friday meditation.

(On Fridays all year round, but especially during Lent, it is traditional to remember Christ's suffering and death; that's why it is often a day of fasting.)
