Orlando Report--Finishin' Up

Hey Everyone!

We're back in sunny Chicago...really! It was 73 degrees when we get off the plane in the Windy City--just a few degrees less than it was when we left Orlando! That sure was a nice welcome back--not the shock to the system we expected.

So here's how our time in Orlando finished up. On Days 3 & 4, we mostly just hung around the resort where we were staying. Our screened-in balcony/porch gave us a great view of the golf course. We got a kick out of the relatively frequent plunking sounds of golf balls hitting the water!

We enjoyed some of the little surprises of Florida, like this chameleon--and the handiwork of a skywriter! Click to enlarge--it says "Say yes to God--:)"

Saturday night we went to Downtown Disney for dinner and some shopping. We knew the boys would have loved the Lego store. Here we are posing with some life-size Lego sculptures!

Sunday night we went to a dinner show called Arabian Nights. The food was just okay, but the horses were beautifully trained and the riders performed some amazing routines and stunts with them.

On Monday we went to Epcot. I didn't really take any pictures until we got to Norway in the international area; then we snap-snapped. I wonder how many of my readers know that my husband is half-Norwegian--which makes our kids one-quarter Norwegian and three quarters American mutt, heavy on the British isles ancestry.

And now I think our twentieth anniversary has been well and truly celebrated! It was a great time away together...but it's good to be back.

Great pictures Hen! The golf course looks so peaceful, and I love the lego dinosaur! Really neat that you guys got to spend some time away for your anniversary.

I'm glad that you had a great trip - my dh and I went to Disneyworld as part of a college trip way back in 1976 - we were just dating at the time and so we didn't mind the long lineups - more time to gaze into each other's eyes. :)
