When All the Work Is Worth It

I am SO occupied this week with dress rehearsals for "Charlotte's Web" Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights, in which we're still figuring out these Animals' makeup! Then performances begin on Thursday morning with two school day performances. Friday is the BIG day, though--with two school day shows in the morning, and Opening Night for the public performances. Two more shows on Saturday...and we'll get a little break till next Thursday!

So I thought it was an appropriate time to post another YouTube video. I've sorta been saving this one--tell me if it gives you goosebumps as it does me. It's our theater group doing "All the Thinks You Can Think" from "Seussical" (which we did last spring), but it's a montage of video and audio footage from the very first read-through, through the final performance onstage with costumes, makeup and mikes.

I thought it was just me, but then I overheard my 12-year-old son telling a friend, "You know what REALLY gives you shivers when you watch it...."

(It'll be hard to pick out my kids, but if you're trying, in the onstage performance, Blondechick14 is the very blonde girl in the feathery turquoise dress, and Bantam12 is in black leather with an orange necktie. Watch for them in the front, towards the end.)

FANTASTIC. That was a clever idea, too. Bean and I thoroughly enjoyed and I believe I did get a goosebump or two! ;)

What a neat tape, going back & forth between rehearsal and live performance! That was a wonderful show! Pianomum

So much fun to watch the progression from rehearsal to performance. Your kids are so blessed to be able to participate in something like that.
