Birthday, Again

You know what's annoying?

My anniversary, Christmas, my blogiversary and my birthday are all within 3 weeks of each other. By the time we get to my birthday, it feels like enough, already. And why couldn't this be spread out a bit more?

I read "The Importance of Being Earnest" over the weekend. No one does witty wordiness better than Wilde! With my birthday looming, this quote stood out:

“Thirty-five is a very attractive age. London society is full of women of the very highest birth who have, of their own free choice, remained thirty-five for years.”

I confess that this birthday, for the first time, I am pondering the advantages of keeping my age shrouded in mystery for the next decade or so.

Which reminds me of another quote I saw online. It wasn't attributed to an author.

“The best years of a woman's life - the ten years between 39 and 40.”

Since 40 is the new 30, and 50 the new 40, I'm hoping that the ten years between 49 and 50 are now the new best decade. Can I get an amen?

Well, happy yet-another-holiday to me!

I've stopped having birthdays. Instead, I celebrate anniversaries of being 29! ;)
