I'm a little slow to mention it, but there have been some interesting discussions around the educational blogosphere about homeschooling through high school. This post at Spunky Homeschool has a number of interesting links and fascinating comments. I was interested by the "Queen of Carrots'" comment, which echoed what a panel discussion in our area also concurred-- essentially, that it's pretty hard to really mess up your kid's future by what you do or don't do if you homeschool all the way through. Not that we don't all plan to do the absolute best we can by our kids...but it is reassuring to hear as high school draws near! Blondechick 13 enters 8th grade next year. We pray each year for direction, but at this point we believe God is pointing us toward homeschooling her in high school.
Sherry at Semicolon also shares from her experience, having graduated two from high school already:
Part One
Part Two: The Plan
Part Three: The Reality
College or Not?
Lots of good food for thought.
Now to finish up 1st, 4th and 7th grades--the big push for the next few weeks!
"Increase and multiply upon us your mercy; that, with You as our ruler and guide, we may so pass through things temporal, that we lose not the things eternal..." (from The Book of Common Prayer)

We just graduated our oldest daughter and I am so glad that we did. She is such a wonderful girl (I can't bring myself to call her a woman yet!). The end of her homeschooling just inspires me to keep going with the rest of the kids because it has been such a huge blessing to all of us. We have had our trials but all in all, I wouldn't change a thing!
I hope to write some posts about this soon but I just can't get my thoughts together in it--right now it is still emotional for me!
