An Unusual Visitor

This morning we had a most extraordinary visit. While I was out at an early morning appointment, Bantam 7 noticed a truck from "the Purple Heart Vegetarians" pulling into our driveway.

They were about to pick up a box that was sitting on our patio when Bantam 7 stopped them, presuming that the box (which had gotten wet in the overnight rain) was a package for us, possibly containing presents. (It had indeed once contained presents for us and was clearly labelled, in his Ohio grandpa's handwriting, with our address. The flaps, however, were not taped down, and "DONATION" was also scrawled across it--alas, only in ballpoint pen as I neglected to locate a Sharpie marker at the time.)

The Vegetarians deferred to Bantam 7 and left the box and its sodden contents for me to deal with.

To my great delight, you can imagine.

But he made up for it with the Vegetarian quote!

(In case you don't have them in your area, they are actually the Purple Heart VETERANS!)

AaaaH! I meant to be sure and use their real name somewhere--I guess the Purple Heart Veterans must not come to Texas!
