Busy Days...

It sure was sad to see Seussical come to an end on Saturday night...but we had lots of fun at the cast party, and they prayed for and blessed our family at the Strike Party.

And we sure enjoyed Peter Pan--it got us excited about being in Lake County's fall production--Les Miserables, the School Edition! (It's just like Broadway, but abridged, with a few verses and musical interludes removed.)

We haven't come to a decision yet about a house; Papa Rooster needs to crunch some more numbers today with our friend who does mortgages. It's clear that the bigger house would be the most suitable for our family, better set up for ministry, and a great investment besides. We're praying....

Today, my friend's six children come over for the day.

I'll teach my last writing class this afternoon. I'm giving them a(n easy) test over concepts and vocabulary from the year--oh, aren't I mean? Then they'll each read aloud what they've written for a final project--their choice of essay, story, or poetry. I'll hand out candy along with the compliments, and we'll do a couple of Mad Libs after that--always a crowd-pleaser. The mom who's been teaching history on Fridays is bringing brownies and all her leftover pictures cut from magazines (they made collages as a creative response to each "Mystery Guest," which was a different child each week, dressed up and prepared to answer certain questions so the class could figure out which famous figure from American History he/she was!). She's going to let them make one last collage on whatever theme they choose, which they'll all enjoy.

Then most of us are off to "Showcase," the final project of the theater classes they've been taking. I can't wait to see the moves Bantam12 has learned in his swing dancing class, or hear Blondechick14's best attempts at improv, or watch Bantam8 pull off his role as The Beast in scenes from Beauty and the Beast!

Finally, our friend from Kenosha who works on houses (who also started the church plant there, who also was Papa Rooster's roommate in college) is coming late tonight, to start bright and early in the morning to prime, paint, plaster, caulk and generally prep our house to sell. Papa Rooster is planning to take a day off from work tomorrow too.

One of my favorite collects, which seems so appropriate for such a busy time as this:

O God, the protector of all who trust in you, without whom nothing is strong, nothing is holy: Increase and multiply upon us your mercy; that, with you as our ruler and guide, we may so pass through things temporal, that we lose not the things eternal; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Is everyone moving? I think this is the 4th blog this morning discussing moves or potential moves, something looming on the horizon for us as well.

Thank you , Jeanne, for these updates on how God is working in your lives and what He is winnowing out for you all. We stand with you and praise Him too for good, good things!
Praying with you: "guide, we may so pass through things temporal, that we lose not the things eternal."

With love,
Ann
