Celebration [UPDATED]

Hey, it looks like today we're gonna hit 100,000 visits on Ye Olde Sitemeter!!! [And...we did!]

If I were a real blogger, I'd have some crafty giveway from somebody's Etsy store all lined up.

But I've been in Oz all weekend.... And to be honest, one of my top pet peeves is having to mail anything other than a letter. (It's just too many steps to pull together a box, an address and a visit to the Post Office. I'm lazy like that.)

Instead, I will tell you how GRATEFUL I am for all my readers, faithful and unfaithful, daily or sporadic, known or unknown! YOU are the reason I keep this little blawg going--well, you and the kick I get out of keeping it up as a family album. Thank you for coming, for reading, for commenting. Your presence here is such an encouragement!

But I would love to know you all better, so my celebration of choice is to hear from YOU!

Let me know where you're from, and make a suggestion for future posts, if you have one--I've received some great ideas for content from my readers before, and I am ready for more. Or just tell me what kind of posts you'd like more of!

And tell me, if you were stuck on a desert island with a video player/screen and ONE movie--what could you watch over and over??

And let me know if you are the 100,000th visitor!!! [It was someone shy from Seattle!]

[Today, Tuesday, I am off to Oz again all day--so I won't be able to comment till later, but please, keep 'em coming!]

99, 934 when I looked.

Can't remember if I've ever commented before, but I have been reading for about eighteen months now.

It's a combination of your approach to education, how that works with your family, and your Christian life, oh, and the children's theatre, that keep me reading, so anything you write I will read.

I have no idea what one film I'd choose!

(I'm living in a small city in the middle of England...and I've no idea how I found your blog, either.)

Moyra--

So nice to hear from you, all the way from England--the internet certainly makes the world smaller!

I'm in Texas, and I just enjoy reading about your homeschooling experiences and your new church plant.

One movie? I'll cheat and say LOTR, all three parts.

Hi, I'm Kellie, one of Anne Kennedy's parishioners in Binghamton, NY. I like the stories about your kids and really love the gentleness of your writing "voice" (haha, can you tell I'm an English major?). Also, I did my undergraduate education a few years ago in Alfred, NY, and there's something about you guys that reminds me somewhat of the volunteer-staff families who ran our InterVarsity chapter.

I don't watch a lot of movies more than once--maybe I'd go for a disc full of M*A*S*H. But I'd rather trade it all in for a stack of books!

Hi Sherry--Thanks for the line!

And Kellie, it's so nice to "meet" you. I figured all those hits from Binghamton couldn't all be from Anne!

I agree with you about the books! I think it's terrible to ask booklovers to limit themselves to one book, and of course we all would say the Bible anyway! But I thought maybe the one MOVIE question would be more doable.

Jeanne, I've been reading your blog since y'all left Rez (were planted elsewhere). It's how I keep up with your lives from afar. I'd take "What About Bob?" to the desert island. =) ~Bonita Smith

Bonita--

So nice to hear from you--I had no idea! I'm so glad. It's been nice catching up with you a bit through your Facebook statuses. (Statii?) And we get the prayer chain emails too, so I have offered up prayers for you.

"Bob" is certainly a great choice to laugh away your troubles!!

Hi Jeanne,
Not sure if I've commented yet, but I found your blog through the Fruitful vine. We're former Rez members, but now in California. My husband Anthony worked in the library with John F. I read your blog because our new church here, is Anglican but small (Diocese of San Joaquin) and sometimes I miss the lively conversations of life and faith we had at Rez. What a special place :) In some ways, I feel like our little church is church planting, too, even though they've been around for a while. Anyway, thanks for sharing your thoughts and family life.

Jeanne, I've been dropping by weekly for some months now. Can't remember how I found you, but I just enjoy your writing and admire your family. I'm in beautiful North Carolina. Hmmm...ONE movie, eh? Probably Gone with the Wind...Scarlett is my all time favorite literary character! Blessings for your day - B.

Hi Jeanne,
congrats! I enjoy your blog so much! I especially like hearing about how your family celebrates Holy Days, the church plant, homeschooling, and since we've moved from Kenosha to Philly, all things WI! Thanks for all your encouragement. Amy

I'm in southern California and, oh, movies? I'm tempted to say "A Man for All Seasons", but the truth is, if I couldn't pick "Jesus" (the equivilant of saying "The Bible" for the book question!), I'd probably go for the Princess Bride. I mean, is there honestly a better movie, anywhere?

I think my favorite post of yours was the one where you commented on that passage in Deuteronomy about God clearing the land slowly "so the wild beasts do not become too numerous for you". I'm still meditating on that passage of Scripture. I like your posts commenting on the readings.

And I like your posts about schooling, but that's probably because I'm getting ready to jump into that stage of life myself!

Checking in from Alberta, Canada! I come by several times a week (can't remember how I initially found you though) and I love reading about your adventures with kids, homeschooling and your celebrations of church festivals. Our tradition is Lutheran and there are many similarities. In Canada we share a strong relationship with Anglicans. The Easter posts were marvelous. I also loved your love story entries - so romantic :)) I'm looking forward to hearing more about the new theatre group and your continued adventures parenting teens. God bless!

Hi Jeanne,

I've been reading off-and-on for about a year or so. I think I found you through Margie's blog, or a search I did for John. I was a Wheaton student from 96-00 and attended Rez. It was a very formational time for me. I remember having Bantam14 as Bantam2 or 3 in the toddler nursery. He was my favorite! I also played flute on the worship team with John for a year or two. Reading your blog has been a good connection to remind me of what God did in me during that season. (I was homeschooled as well, so I enjoy that connection, too!)

I'm now working with a church in Germany and have been blogging a bit myself, although not recently. Blessings to you and your family!

Thank you all for commenting!!

B--Gone With the Wind is a great choice!!

Hi Amy!! It's been great to keep up with you through your blog. I met someone you know--the Metzgers from your old church! Their freshman son is doing the Wizard of Oz and is Bantam10's "big brother." I've been doing his makeup and he's such a sweetie.

Jessica--I never realized you were in Southern Cal?! I love the Princess Bride too. I should watch it again--it's been ages!

Crystal--I had the idea that maybe we "met" through Linds? I didn't know your church background though--yes, Lutherans and Anglicans do share a lot of traditions. I didn't realize you were in Canada!

Renee--It blesses me so much to hear from you! I didn't know your name, but I certainly recognize your lovely face. Hard to believe you're old enough to remember that son as a 2-year-old! I liked your blog--you should keep writing! May God bless your team there in Germany.

Hello Jeanne!

I'm from the Twin Cities area in Minnesota, and (I can't remember if I've told you this) I have been reading your blog since I googled a review of Gunnar's Daughter over a year ago, and was brought to this site. In fact, your blog is what inspired me to start up blogging again, and to choose blogspot! (I had a xanga a long time ago, but blogspot is really much more user friendly.)

I really enjoy your life updates and hearing about your family; I am from a Catholic (sometimes) homeschool family of six children, so I see a lot of similarities in your family. I also love reading your reviews of literature.

Congratulations on your 100,000 visits! =)
